URGENT HELP!!!

Hi last night drove home and just as i got outside the cluth gave way i know NOTHING about cars so am clueless all i can say is the car wont move no matter what gear or where the pedal is even if i life pedal all the way the car doesnt even stall

can anyone help???

Wouldn't be able to get it in gear if this was true.

to add..... when i tried it in higher gears 4 and 5 it sounded almost like it was TRYING to bite but couldnt not sure if this helps

If you had the clutch done by Renault in December, the work will come with 12 month warranty.

i didnt have cluth done dsadly but i just cant help feelin hard done by when it passed the MOT in dec after renault done it and now this just feel robbed

The MOT doesnt check the clutch as long as its working at the time of the MOT ?

MOT Wont check the internals of the engine / box. They can't check some thing that you cant see if it feels fine at the time of the MOT how are they to know?

Shouldn't be a too expensive job then matey, but you'd be best getting it diagnosed first but to me with limited details you have provided it does sound like the clutch plates nakered.

Make sure if it is that that they when changed they use the kit rather than just the plate, you dont want another part failing in 6 months time! The release bearing on mine squeals like a pig

Get a local garage to do it, renault will charge for any minute they spend on it.

Diagnosing it will cost £70 straight away!

MOT doesn't mean your cars in good working order, its a basic safety check, whereas a service is maintenance check, but still you can't ever check your clutch until it goes, because its a big job! Its just one of those things you you don't worry about, until it goes wrong! You'd be able to tell if the clutch cable has snapped, its pretty obvious, on top of the gear box you can clearly see the clutch cable, just grab it and feel for any slack! If the clutch itself is worn then probably looking at around £300!

Take it to a local garage, ask around see what trustworthy, small garages there are, if you brough your car into my garage we'd have a look at it for free, it would take 30seconds to see if the clutch has gone! Just stay away from main detailer!
