Using a trolley jack on a 172

  RenaultSport clio 172 mk2
Where are the best places to put a trolley jack cup on a 172? Just the normal jacking points or are there any particular chunky bits of the chassis or cross members that can be used?

for the fronts, use the structural supports that run down the car... not the sills which WILL fold.

if you look under the car there's 2 square section beams than run down the car, they're about 2 inches thick, cant miss em. for the rear, use the rear axel, again avoiding the jacking points on the sills.

  ST on the way...
But stick a cloth between the stand/jack and the car then it doesn't damage the gravel guard ;)

Thats all fine and dandy unless its lowered and you can't get a trolley jack that far under the car . I have to jack off the sills (carefully) and use a bit of wood between the jack and the sill and I haven't managed to fold one yet.
Once you've jacked and axle standed one side I can jack off the subframe for the other side.
