Using bit of oil since cam-job ?

  RS RIP
Before the cams etc. were put on i checked regularly and almost never had to fill up the oil, well very little anyway.

Since the cams were put on, which like to rev by the way, i noticed today that i will need to fill up the oil more frequently. Is that okay/normal or have i busted something ?

(we're talking a drop on the dipstick of 4 to 5 mm in a small 3 months , really not that much but still more than before)

With higher duration cams giving more valve overlap, this can cause oil to leak past the valve stem oil seals on overrun since theres more depression in the intake port (due to the extra overlap).

got you on that ; but is this a problem ? *** edit *** does it get worse to the point of having to replace seals + etc. ?

^^ bit of a surprise yes, maybe turning in to annoyance in future . Thanks for describing the prob, sounds logical to me now.

Worse case scenario ?
