V Power fuel

  clio182,,2wd cosworth
Has anyone else used and found a differance in performance with v power my wife has now had about three tank fulls ran through the car and it seem to make a differance ..
It seems to be a lot smoother all the way through the rev range and also seems to get more miles to the gallon..

:D :D

I can't say I've really noticed much difference, my car has run better recently, but I think that's more due to the colder weather.

  Leon Cupra 300
yeah ive had it in for the last 4 tanks now.. lots smoother and better mpg, seems to have a bit more poke top end too :D

Yes i have also noticed that once you get to 5000rpm it has a lot more kick...will just keep using it as im well pleased with it..

Never got to try it in the cossie but as 2wd does not have knock sensor it would not of allowed the timming to alter for the fuel rating..:dapprove:

Cheers for the comments..:approve:

Yep..........Not performance wise but certainly runs better and the mpg has gone up!!!

yeh and now that the petrol prices have come down its affordable too. retails at around 95p a litre here now, was up to £1.10 a while ago. definitely a lot smoother, marginally better economy and seems to accelerate slightly quicker too

  Ph-Sold!
having been used to paying 98/99p for regular I accept the 97p for v-power now rather than 89p for regular, where I previously wouldnt have touched it - perhaps thats been their business model after all with these months of fuel prices lol

Fuckabout 91.09 per litre here :p

I can't decide if I'm noticing a difference due to the fuel or beacuse it's got cooler outside. The car seems more responsive and my economy has risen to 39mpg from 33mpg.

Thankfully it's now priced at 91.9 rather than 101.9. Having said that I'm tempted to use standard fuel now that it only costs 84.9

do you use the pedal on the right?

the car wasn't designed to do 39mpg, either you can't drive it or your trip computer isn't reading correctly as mine is never over 30 with mixed driving.

Do 172's give more MPG than 182's ?

I'd class my drving as mixed (lot of short DC runs though) and get 29/30. Hardly changes now.

Don't think i'll ever see anywhere near 40 again unless i'm doing 70 on a long motorway run.

  Turbos.
If anything the 182 should get better figures, thanks to a slightly better torque figure.

Had V Power for a while, and am getting good mpg, over 39 at the moment.

the trip computers seem to give massively varied results, i would work it out manually really. If i reset mine and then drive at 67 on the mway i still won't get above 35, so people who are gettin 39 average are either resetting it before they roll down a hill or the computer is not reading accurate enough, i'm sure of it.

I get about 300 miles to a tank if i am lucky

Ditto that.

300 miles just completed on my last tank.

I generally tend to work it out manually too. Constant 29-30 ish.

i am usually about 33mpg, sometimes nearer 35most of the time.. or on a long run about 38.. and i drive it hard lol

Since resetting mine, iv been getting between 39 and 41mpg!!!

Dave you must have a very heavy foot cause i have a fair few not shy moments myself and am still getting a good mpg!!!

  clio182,,2wd cosworth
When the wife drives she gets around 36 mpg..

when i had it for a week i got 24 which is still about 10 more than the cosie..

  Clio 172 mk2
45mpg on the motorway using V-power

I think that's pretty good really for a 2 litre performance car:D

And what does everyone think bout the 99 ron tesco fuel.

Sales pitch or does the job?? it is cheap as chips though!

Which is a plus on a thirsty car... :drunk:

^^^Used to put it in everytime mate........Thought it was good until i started using the shell fuel!!! ;)

i get 29.9mpg as of this morning but i drive to work and it is only up the road 2 min work..fat b*****d!!! using normal ron fuel..got 33-34 on ultimate fuel but at 1.13 per litre sod that!!
