V5 form problems

Hi iv just bought my 172 and on the v5 form it just says Renault Clio the engine size but doesn't mention anything about a sport or 172 is this correct? Or have I been fooled and robbed please help..

It depends, there's not a 'correct' classification.

Mine's down as a 'Renault Clio', nothing more.

Just write 'Super Sport RS 16v' after the box in pen, if you fancy.

DVLA are quite inconsistant when it comes to vehicle descriptions, and it's quite common for the V5 to give only a vague description of the car. If you're still unsure check that the VIN/Chassis numbers match up.

I deal with V5's all the time and usually spot a mistake every other day.

dont worry about it mate
my v5 just says" renault"
then "standard car" where clio should be !!!!
i contacted the dvla about it
said its not a problem,they say i can change it to clio if i pay £21 and update the details
cant be arsed,ill do it when i sell itt on if it was a problem for the buyer

Mine had the V5 changed at some point in its life, started as RENAULT CLIO, then changed to RENAULT CLIO GRANDE somehow :S
