V6 255 Or Focus Rs

  Lotus Elise 111R
What about the new ST170, they are already being advertised on the net at 17.5k with 8 weeks delivery from January! RS values are probably going to take a bit of a hit soon, there already seem to be alot available so only a matter of time...supposedly the ST is faster than both!!

Agree, the Vee is a special car, expecially for looks....

The ST170 was supposed to be a really car, all the reviews said it was good just underpowered, the RS had mix views awesome on the track not so good on the road

this one had a full zorst system with decat, K&N and remaped, guy claimed 198bhp (not sure if that was bullshit or not) so it was quite fast but yeah still not that fast.

need to get myself a run in a 172/182 to see how it compaired

rs would win, have seen v6s do low 14s on the strip, some cups manage that

Depends on the car and driver though. Best I managed in my Cup in prob 4 different visits was a 14.7 which was at York. Was slower every time at pod.

I did a 14.1 on my one and only day in the V6 and that was at pod with crap traction.

Martin 89, you talking about an old ST170 or new one which is defo faster than RS round Nurburgring and has 225bhp?? New ST supposed to fantastic ( from what the press/mags and Top Gear say anyway....)

  Renault Clio 16v
Had an RS Focus but sold it to part fund my house extension and have regretted it ever since as it was the dogs!!

Admits have you ever seen a bright yellow vx220 in Wigan with black wheels???? If you have then you've spotted my wife!!! By far one of the fastest cars in Wigan mate, use it now and again as an adrenaline rush!! you can here it coming from Pemberton!

If any of you read evo, you may have read an article recentry when they took a FRS to the Nurburgring - they said the car was absolutely fantastic and even upped its ranking in the knowledge in the back.

Early press cars were apparently not quite finished, later cars are supposedly much better.

Id have the FRS over the V6 any day of the week, it looks simply stunning . . .

anyone who says the focus rs cannont handle are mistaken! why because you are adopting someone elses opinion, try driving one, yeah it has torque steer but so does my cup but feels worse,

drive one and make up your own opinion

I have no interest in buying one so I'm not going to bother.

what do you really think, and the clios daddy would eat the rs

RS for me! yeah you get torque steer, so if you have weedy arms its no good for you lol! My mates is rapid, the vee looks awsome, its got that 'look at me' factor, but TBH i think the focus is better all round - IMO!!!

I think the main debate here is you are either a Fast Ford Fan or you're not.

Myself, i have been brought up on fast fords, My dad has had a 330bhp saph cossie, my uncle has his 400+bhp esc cossie, and he now has a FRS with full mongoose zorst system, and bluefin, and its putting out about 250bhp iirc.

Having only driven the cossie i cant really comment on the focus. it is a shame it wasnt ever made into the car it should have been. But i still think its a great car.

But still nowhere near as good as a nicely fettled escort cossie.

Ford Focus RS - 1.32.2
Renault Clio v6 - 1.36.2
Honda Civic Type R - 1.36.5

Ford was on bone dry track, clio's track was Flooded ;)
not sure about the honda?
I reckon RS and V6 would be very close on track, RS would win on the modding front though, very easy to gain power, clio wins on looks and very rare.....

Id go wid the focus turbo's are so much better then a v6 engine wise

must admit, I wasn't a fan of the clio when I got it, planned it as a go between but it's really grown on me and decided to keep it for the time being. I thought I'd miss 240bhp but there really isn't that much difference at legal speeds and I can chuck it around like crazy and just keeps gripping! Can't fault it.
