V6 air box

Car  Renault clio 172
Have a chance to get one as my local scrappy has one, am I right in thinking that the right one is off a espace 3.0 v6, do I just need the air box or do I need other bits, will it fit 172 phase 2? Thanks

be worth making sure you get the caf as they have an oval outlet, otherwise good luck making a feed fit.

So just air box and caf and it should fit straight on phase 2 172, just though it may be worth a shot as its meant to help the engine breath slightly better

Bit of a change of subject from the v6 air box but is this new k-tec induction really as good as people on here are saying 3-4bhp increase from an induction and even more after map , is this true or people just trying to justify there £170 quid, because if that's true might just get one of them, just I thought all inductions lost you power, thanks

Might just have a look at one of them then, plus the fella at the scrappy wanted 60 quid for the v6 air box and CAF, insane or what bearing in mind its off a scrap car, Unless there really expensive from renault to justify that 60 quid price tag, or he could have seen me pull up in my car and new what I wanted it for and though he would try and rip me off, anyone else got any opinions on the k tec induction

I went from standard to v6 filter to ktec. The noise from the ktec is addictive. Someone on here described it as chewbaca, which is spot on. I love it.

Wont be changing for anything else. Looks the part too.

Did you notice any difference in proformance m8 or is it just a better noise, just u would be the to ask as you have had both kits I'm considering, so the question I'm asking is which one is better

I got 4bhp from my Ktec kit, overpriced though imo. Make your own, loads of threads about it on here.

The ktec one is no different to any other open cone filter - diy or otherwise , I doubt the sound is either...

Its all about the hose length and position of the filter, the K&N's etc sit in an awful place.

I think its a bit pricy for what it is as well m8, what was you fit like just coz I've heard some say its crap and some say its good, can't really be bothered to make my own m8 iv worked it out and I get it at about £110 Using good hoses ect plus you have joins all over the place which in time can't be good, think I'd just prefer to pay the premium for the k tech, god I'm lazy lol, do you no if it proforms better then the v6 box, cheers m8

Most other kits are crap due to poor positioning which just leads to heat soak these are positioned in the coolest place possible

Cheers m8, although I have no intention buying it ( way to expensive almost £400) how do these compare to the itg maxogen just interested

No idea, never been in a car with one fitted.

But for 400, id say its not worth it. That is stupid money. Just because is carbon fibre. Sits further in than the ktec too. Sits in the same place as a v6.

Ok cheers m8 I've never seen one just seen they were really expensive when I went on the k tech site and was wondering what they were like, couldn't bring myself to spend 400 quid on a induction kit god it's half killing me spending 160 for the k tech one lol

I got mine 2nd hand for 120 i think. Put up in the wanted section. Might get lucky.

You wont regret it once you have it fitted. Trust me.
