V6 Airbox on a 182 ?

  Clio 182
Hello All

Ive noticed someone selling a few of the V6 airboxes on here, and just wondered how hard it is to fit them to a 182 ? And do they sound anything like an induction kit does? (i have a 57i type one on at the minute and am just going through a few ideas, to stop heat soak, either put a shield on it, smaller battery and smaller filter then move it to the otherside of the battery, KTR induction kit (expensive) or one of these V6 airboxes.

If anyone has a brief guide with pictures of how to fit one and how they look afterwards that would be great. Also would really like to see/hear what they sound like.

Apologies for the "newbie-question" but we all have to start learning somewhere !! :)

Cheers

providing you have the original inlet elbow or a samco type from inlet manifold down to where the airfilter would be, the espace V6 airbox fits directly to the same hose.

It does give a nice induction tone, but not a cr@ppy noise like most cone filters. felt like it pulled a little harder at the top end but not really any difference low down.

Straight swap for the original one. They give a nice deep inuction noise. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8F2aEgnUMg

Straight swap sounds good to me, notice the guy in the video has his left hand side cold air feed going to the grille, would that normally be where the standard pipe connects to ?

Cant really hear the induction noise in the video, (to be fair its pretty hard to record from in the air, ould be better stationary blipping the throttle from the engine bay maybe) car certainly sounds good and pulls well though!

Cheers for your help

Yeah ive currently got the standard elbow, which im replacing witht eh samco version mate, you say the espace one will fit direct onto this, would the clio v6 one not do ?

Mine seems a bit like that aswell, with he k&n on, top end really pulls well, however with the k&n you do get a really good initial induction noise low down (which is what i like personally) Im guessing with the V6 airbox you wouldnt get the initial induction sound, but more top end results, maybe even add to the popping and banging when you lift off with certain exhausts (not mine) ?
