V6 Airbox

  107 Track Car & C4
i've had a look on some of the other threads and i can't see it, the V6 airbox which some people are putting on the 172/182's, is the one from the Espace or the Clio V6? Or are they the same lol?

Cheers,

I see alot of people saying that they don't make any difference, but i just want to see what the noise is like!

I had the same dilemma mate, in the end, i just disconnected my cold air feed. = INCREASED NOISE :approve:

the V6 airbox some use (including myself) on their 1*2's is NOT the same as a Clio V6 airbox.

It comes from the Espace V6 and is almost identical to the airbox used on Ph1 172's. the difference being the V6 has one large air feed, the Ph1 has 2 small air feeds.

its the one from the Espace or 172 ph one, no clio v6
I tried both the noise its amazing and the car feels amazingly s**t, very laggy on low revs.
Before I bought my maxogen i was running with standard box without air feeds and acoustic valve, that worked a treat.

How do I disconnect the Cold Air Feed too then? I don't really know a lot about engines lol. Will it have a bad effect on anything on the car at all?

I have one of these airboxes with the big single feed if anyone wants it.

Was on my clio when I got it.

Wouldn't want too much for it.

one on the right side (which connects to the acoustic valve) just pull it off the box and stick it behind the light.
For the second you need to take the air box out as the feed runs underneath,
Have a search, there are loads of threads about this.

Why would you want to remove both airfeeds? You've replaced them with a better one I guess? When I removed mine it felt like lost torque so put it back on. I recommend taking the acoustic valve off tho, 10 minute job and it feels better and sounds a little louder too.

There is a guide in the guide section. Basically, jack up passenger side, remove wheel, unscrew screw holding arch lining and pull out 2 large plastic bungs, you will see the valve attached to the horn assembly. Unplug electrical socket and remove small pipe. But be sure to bung up the small pipe with a bolt or similar.
I re-routed the feed to behind the headlight.
Made a slight improvement on mine.

It really is not hard at all. I did mine in 10-15 minutes. Seriously, the hardest part is jacking up and removing the wheel.

Just change your filter for a itg, k&n or other more free flowing filter and just pull out the top feed (the one you can see going in on the side) that way you don't need to bother about the acoustic valve. Seems to increase torque slightly and makes a noise when you put your foot down.
