v6 Front Pads

Any v6 owners (Mk1s) replaced the front pads themselves? Is it relatively easy, any tips etc. Also if any v6 owners have found a source of braided hoses them can you let me know.

ds2500 Ferodos and the lines are available from Goodridge (all 4 are identical) - the whole jobs a piece of piss!

MikeT I could not see the v6 listed on Goodridges site. Supplier of the pads (Pagids) is looking into it for me but taking their time. Who did you use for supply - also did you uprate the fluid.

Goodridge used my lines as a pattern - theyre not listed but are available - mine were given to me as I leant them the originals.



Did uprate fluid and the ferodos were from some welsh rally company - ill try and find the part number

The DS2500 are definitely the pads to choose if you are going to do any

amount of road miles as this will lengthen the life of your discs.

Shouldnt be any more difficult than a 172

Basically these are the steps.

1. Loosen the cap on the brake fluid resevoir

2. Jack up car

3. Remove front wheel

4. Undo inside nut at the bottom of the caliper (might need a screwdriver to pry a bit to make job easier)

5. Remove nut and lift up caliper

6. Change pads

7. Lower caliper and replace nut

8. Put wheel back on

9. Top up brake fluid if needed

10. Have a cuppa and relax

Thanks all - pads going on tonight - Not Ferodos - I should of asked for recommendations earlier. Trying Pagids and I will see how they do and if they affect the discs (should know by Thursday night as will be using Donington as a test).

Will ring Goodrige and see if I can get the hoses.
