Matts "death machine",I remember it well.
Never did see that.
Would have to be the Vee for me. Truely special car. The R26.R is a special car but in reality its nothing you couldn't do to a standard Meg, were as to put a 3.0 V6 engine in the back of a Clio is just plain amazing.
Ooo,ta.I'll send you the yt link when I can get on the laptop fella. Can see you left foot braking at points!
I like both cars, the V6 is a mint looker, meg cool track day toy. But if i was spending 20k on a track day car i would be thinking elise/ exige/ VX220 Turbo or dont you like them Ash? Your money of course mate i arent telling you what to do
Get the megane Ash, then you will be able to pull away for Aucky and me!
Hehe. Are we gonna have an xmas RR btw?Get the megane Ash, then you will be able to pull away from Aucky and me!
What's amazing about it?
R26R... The V6 is a pointless car.
I love it so much but until I have a garage full of my ultimate cars in a collection I'll never own one.
Not fast, cost a lot to run, don't handle, no practicality etc etc etc.
At least the R26R goes well and goes round corners well! I'd prefer to live with the buckets and harnesses everyday then be disappointed with the performance of my supercar costing hatch back.
Stop bating ya camel. Just because you don't like them doesn't mean others choose to agree.
Whats amazing about them, i'll summarise:Should i go on....
- Very Rare (Limited production, with 360ish units sold to the UK market)
- A 2 seater, rear engined clio, a 3l V6 at that
- The noise and presence of a supercar for under 30k
- A capable road and track car.
- A comfortable car, and very easy to drive, more so than the 172/182/192 IMO
- A community of like-minded enthusiasts
- A evolution of the great 5 Maxi, and trophy racing series
There is always a lot of hate on here for the V6.
It might just be a Clio. It could be faster. It might have panel gaps that I could sleep in. But I'd still love one.
It's not always hate though is it? That's a personal reaction from those who own/love them. Sometimes a simple statement can be perceived as hate, when in reality it's just an honest comment. They are special, but not everyone has to like them. I don't like the looks, and up-close I think they're poorly finished. Does that make me a hater? Only in the eyes of someone who can't accept rational opinions. That sounded a bit deep...f**k you rararrarrrr etc.
There's a difference between not liking them for valid reasons.
But them being 'slow' and 'handle badly' from people that have never driven them seems strange. It is the top of the Clio range. It should be loved on here.

18mpg when gunning it would be nice.
Hehe. Are we gonna have an xmas RR btw?
Wanna swap?!
No. Not really.
The torque too much for you?
Came off a rounder about the other day and my watch actually slowed down.
