Did realise they were cheaper lol. I didn't think Ph1 V6's came on a 52 plate either...

Infact i'd say it's rare to see one over that price, not that i've been looking mind.

Mileage is low for that age Alex. Ten owners is an interesting point though. Guessing people that just didn't get on with it. Would not buy it for fear of resale value tbh.

Unless those are dealers that have bought and sold it on.

10 owners isn't too bad - you've got to remember that this is one of those cars that everyone 'has to own'. They own it, don't use it, shift it on afterwards after being able to say they owned one.

it may not be bad in terms of they all cared for it- but on paper 10 owners is a kick in the nads-

You try selling that on with 11 owners---- Zero chance...

Not really... You (of all people!) are aware how hard it is to come across one of these that's in half decent and original condition! So whilst 10 owners may make it 'more difficult', it's not the same as having a 10-owner Mondeo of the same age...

i indeed know that- however i spend hours & hours a week involved in Clios-

Its like comparing chalk & cheese-

Joe soap looking to buy a car still operates under the same perceived rules as before-

Actual quality of car, mileage , SH & number of Owners- its only real enthusiasts that study vehicle spec to the nth degree...

double digit owners will scare all but everyone away- I saw this on ebay last night- scrolled through & as soon as I saw 10 owners chuckled to myself at the price tag-

Fair enough - I know it wouldn't necessarily put me off (as long as all the documentation was there!) but I also know of people who think it's as important as a main dealer service history...

But then you could say Renault dealers are full of balls and tell you idiotic stuff.

Isn't average miles for a Vee 5k a year? So about 10k over average? I think I'd rather be abit more secure in buying and be owner number 4/5/6 and know that price is not going to fall over when it comes to bye time. I see it as the 100k mileage, albeit not really relevant on some cars. People immediantly think, bloody hell 100k!

Why would average miles differ from car to car? Average mileage is average, it's just what people 'want' to see on cars that changes. Which with a Laguna engine and a van gearbox, isn't an issue...

Agree with Mike, Alex. Average miles is average, regardless of the (road) car.

Hardly going to fall apart in 10 minutes is it?

Wait...

Problem you have with the V6 is that there is so many components that if they need replacing cost an arm & a leg-

In terms of a 'buyers checklist' for the vee it needs to be as long as your schlong in terms of questions, but also visual checks / mechanical

I wouldnt buy a second hand vee ever again unless I researched that particular car & inspected it to the nth degree...

Not worth the hassle-

Probably worth the 9k tbh.

As mentioned silly amount of owners and not far of silly miles "for a vee". Most are not used as every day cars.

It is imo only an enthusiast that is going to buy a car like that unless you have access to mummy and daddys bank account to buy a new car every month. Hence when people are looking to buy they want the best so obviously lower owners and miles should command more money. The fact most ph1's were silver wont help them either.
