Valeo Clutch Kit ( extra parts in box) ?

Just had my clutch kit delivered today and there is a spacer type thing with the kit. There is a picture saying where it goes but I can't see a use for it as there wasn't one originally :S

Anyone know what it is for? And if its actually needed?

It's used to help centre the clutch with the alignment tool.

If you want to do it, tap it into the recess in the middle of the flywheel

I never bother though anymore. More hassle than it's worth.

Just out of interest, you tap it in, do you take it out after alignment?

stays in place once fitted.

I used it with my valeo clutch kit and it made fitting so much easier as I only moved the gearbox asside so couldn't use my eyes to get the clutch plate central.

Tapped the little piece in and used the purple allignment tool when tightening the plate and the box went on first time.
