Hi does any1 know how difficult it is to remove and refit the alterntor of the 16v? and a random guess at how much one is to get refurbed or whatever they do?!? thanx myk
I did mine and im no mechanic. But I did have the luxury of doing it while the rad was out as well. Getting the tools to tighten the belt was hard work tho.
LMAO! good luck! my mate did mine and hes a mechanic! he said he aint never touchin my car again after that! muwahahahaaa! and even a recon was like 100 smackers if i remember right!
its not that bad, I answered a similar post on this, do a search, the thing thats seems to slow everybody down doing this is quite often they dont have a 7mm allen key to lossen aux belt tensioner. But this is not that difficult a job, albeit a little more time consuming than alternator on other cars
