valver bonnet and induction kit on rt

I put a K&N on wiht a cold air feed from the std feed, and noticed a power gain, put the valver bonnet on and tbh havnt noticed any difference, the engine runs cooler though. But then mine is only a 1.2, so any gains wont be that noticable

lunner - when you put the open ik on, you thought youd noticed a difference, its been proven that hot air decreases performance and al that your filter will be taking in is hot air as its directly above the engine

tomtom - get yourself a panel filter and use it in the standard airbox, that is the only way you could see any performance gains

Bambams right. Also remove the hot air feed from the exhaust manifold and gut the air flap and thermostate from inside the airbox so that there are no restrictions then run a feed to the hole next to the rad and headlight (need to cut the plastic gaurd).

I know everyone said there woudl be a lack on performance but there genuinly wasnt, i had more power, supopse it could be to do wiht the fact that it was fairly cold

Was that proven on a rr road though? as the noise will give a false impression of increased power.

On my old rt i tried all sorts and used to run a hillpower induction kit in the winter/ cooler months and in the hot months the modified airbox with a k&n pannel filter.

i got a K&N IK with a impreza vent straight above it and it does run a lot cooler and does help the IK i reckon only 2BHP gain if that jus a beauty noise
