**VALVER CENTRE DAILS HELP**

  clio rsi turbo, phase 2

i posted awhile ago about wiring up all the centre oil gauges in an rsi. ive already transferred the dash and dials over into my car, just need to get them working now.

i know ive got to fit the sensor but where the mofo is it located?! plus anyone who could help with wiring info, that would be great. ive already found the connector block taped to the main wiring loom but when its connected, its shorts out the readings on the main dails - fuel gauge, temp gauge, etc, etc. please help me, anyone. lol.

cheers, steven.

i fitted some in my RT but its a whole different job
I only have oil level sensor in my block, so i hooked that up, and the other two i hooked to variable resistor and then tweeked the resistors to give a reading which i liked and then thats that all done (oh and obviously fitted the illumination too)

no idea why it shorts out on rsi, maybe just find out which wires go to which senders and just bypass them in the same fashion that i did the oil level with.. easy squeezy! :)

humm, good idea, but i want them to work as they should. i know it can be done. but dont know how.

you need the senders in the engine (dont think rsi has these)
then its just a case of plugging in, no idea why it shorts out though
maybe you should snip the 12v (yellow (7) iirc) and the earth (black (3) iirc) and wire them into different 12v and earth (maybe cigar lighter) then maybe this will stop the shorting.

Look behind your main dials, there is a small connector with two wires going into it (orange and white) which wont be plugged into anything. these wires you need to connect to the orange and white wires in the blue plug. this also may stop the shorting, but i dont know how an rsi is laid out, i only assume its similar to the 16v minus the oil guages?

at the end of the day, all the wiring and colours of wires and everything is in the back of haynes and is super simple to understand!
