Valver Immobiliser - Wiper stalk button?

What does the button do on the end of the wiper stalk?

At first i thought it would change the temperature display on the dash, so i pushed the button, but nothing happened.

i have since been told it's somehting to do with the immobiliser? since ive been pushing the button, the key thing in the passenger footwell doesnt seem to turn my immobiliser on/off like it used to? have i mucked it all up?

someone said its something to with pressing the button whilst pushing gas pedal or something?

anyone know anymore?!

It should be the trip computer, try it with engine on

ive tried it with the engine on, but nothing happens!! ive got mileage and trip mileage in the speedo clock (analogue, rolling numbers).

ive been looking on retro-renault for advice but they've all got meggys and R19's!! tut tut!!

ok..the button is nothing to do with the computer..renault used the stalks in the r19's and clios..but never made the button useful for anything in the clio

it may be something to do with the immobiliser..if anything i think it would be to disarm the immobiliser if it was set and couldn't be overcome by locking and unlocking car

It does nothing at all, it is for the R19 trip computer and they used the same stalk in the clio. I'm pretty sure it is FA to do with your immobiliser, you should have a key to reset that!?!?

It's to manually disarm the immobiliser, ignition on, foot down on gas, push button until the first number of your imobiliser code comes up, foot off gas, foot back on gas and repeat the button pushes. HTH
