Valver Insurance Quote

  2004 1.2 Dynamique

Just had a quote on a valver £2100

Insurance sucks! It would be cheaper not to get insured and then if I did get caught its only a 60 quid fine or something! f**kin stinks!

Thats in my mums name and me as a named driver fully comp!

joel if u shop around ull get cheaper

elephant or admiral will beat that

be main driver and add 1 or 2 older women with full no claims as 2nd drivers and see how u go

The Valver im looking at is a minter!

That insurance quote was in my mums name and me as a named driver fully comp!

Im old (26) and my valver is only TPFT - not worth enough to do fully comp lol! I pay £218, but got a quote on the possible VTS i am looking at and fully comp will be £345 with protected no claims - Thats all through Elephant

Im 18 and have been passed my test bang on 1 year! since passing my test I have been insured on a 1.2 8 valve clio on my mums name and me as a name driver, my first year cost £1089 and have just renewed it this year in march and it went down to £750ish still on the 1.2

who are u insured with???

ur problem is u have no no claims, u could really do with at least 1 years yourself before insuring a valver

  2004 1.2 Dynamique

I have just paid 750 on my 1.2 in march paid it all at once cash...

If I buy the valver I am looking at, and wanted to stay with the insurance company im currently how would I go about doing it because I have already paid 750, so would i just pay whatever else they quote me? on top of what i have already paid?

Dave im with Norwich Union

Try with elephant in your own name mate. Ive not had a license for a year yet but I put in my details as if I had (for a valver) and it only came to about £1100 for me with no NCD and I am in a quite high rated area.

A lot of companies have caught onto the whole under your parents name thing and they now price it as if you were the main driver - the only company I have found who are not like this is CIS insurance.

Insuring it in your mums name is illegal, an insurance company can refuse to pay out in the event of a claim!!!

  don't

in answer to the question

your right, u pay whatever the quote is on top, for the rest of the policy

so u dont pay the whole lot again, just the extra

norwich union always gave me sh!t quotes btw, tbh ur stuck as ur in middle of a policy

ring norwich union and just ask them for a change of car quote, i do this alot, doesnt take long and then ul know how much extra ud need to pay

if its 2 much then u have choices

1. stick with ur 1.2 until policy finished
2. cancel the policy and get the valver with someone cheaper

either way isnt that gd, so get a quote and see what its like on top of what uve already paid, just hope its not 2much

make sure u get ur own policy when this ones over though as ur insurance will never go down otherwise, + its illegal

Yea but if i cancelled my policy with norwich union I have already paid the 750 cash so would i lose that or would i get soem back?

Cheers donsro just been quoted this with elephant

Your Price is £1385.95

No problem mate - I was quite pleasantly surprise that I would be able to get it for that considering I would only be 18 with no NCD.

I think you should get a fair bit of your money back from your insurance if you cancel. I think that normally they will pay you back in relation to how many months into the policy you are minus some other admin fees etc.

i paid less than you did on your mums policy, on my own!

youve gota start building your no-claims some time! if you cant afford the insurance on something quick, dont get it!

I wouldnt pay over £1000 for insurance unless it was something REALLY special.

I can insure a Jaguar XJR V8 Supercharged for £1039.

The joys of NCB!

hey, this is the quote i got a while ago.

17, 0NCD, 1.4RT, good area code, on my own name, £1070 TPFT.

then tried to get a quote for a 16v

18, 1NCD, 1.8 16v, same area code, with mum as named driver (in my name) was about £1200 TPFT.. (or was £1300 for a 106 gti fully comp!!)

justin!
