Hello people

just out of interest, how much power is realistically possible with the 1.8 16v?

with decat, modified head cams and pulleys and chip about 160-170bhp depending on cam specs etc.

To start with though a decat, cat back exhaust and panel filter with re-working of the airbox air feed and a chip and/or pbv should free a couple of horses up. But it really depends on the state of the engine, it has to be looked after.

137bhp standard.

Mine did have k-tec full zorst & de-cat rrd at 144.7bhp

Its now got pbv, viper IK and stage 1 chip. Its getting rrd on tuesday, reckon should be around 155+ bhp.

yeah my 16v achieved 144BHP with just decat and backbox. (standard exhaust & no air filter) - i rekon with a chip your looking at 149/150BHP

  Fiat Coupe 20v turbo

Each to their own I guess just over 7000rpm is enough for me. Throttle bodies would be nice though.

how much power is realistically possible.

When you say possible.....on std valve sizes about 250 bhp, on larger valves alot more.......closer to 300.

Realistically.....depends how much of a realistic budget you have.
