first problem = when i change gear or press the throttle i sometimes get a knocking noise sounds like its coming from the exhaust.

2nd problem = when i start the car up and for a about 20 mins i have a very squeaky noise sounds like a fan belt.

3rd problem = a whining noise from the steering wheel

4th problem = the car has thunderous vibrations at speeds through the steering wheel of 100 or over

5th problem = the gear stick is very jumpy and all bounces around

thats all i can think of but im sure theres more any help would be appreciated cheers

1+5 => both of these would suggest the dogbone mount. I would check all the exhaust mounts as well for number 1 but if there is excessive play in the gearstick then it's the dogbone mount. I get a rattling exhasut upon acceleration, braking atc and movement in the gearstick - just have to get my arse into gear and replace the mount.

2 => You should be able to tighten it up, or may be as well getting a new belt. Not done it myself so not 100% sure but do a search as it has been asked plenty times before.

3=> Possibly power steering pump. Could you describe the sound a bit better and when it occurs?

4=> Most likely the wheels are out of balance, but at the same time the car won't feel as steady over 100 anyway. If you have a spare set of wheels by any chance put them on and check, this cleared it up for me.

You need a new dogbone mount its under the car and attaches the gearbox to the car easy to change 10 minutes or so you cna get uprated ones from ktec (I think) this is probaly explaining problem 1 and 5 since a worn mount lets the ngine move around so the exhaust is moving now and so is the gearstick in extreme cases it can come out of gear.
Check the wheel nuts etc for the wheel then get the tracking done (usualyl fixes it if you get a proper garage do it).
Squeeksy fanbelt the tensioners don't like thee cold and wet best try get some wd 40 on them or if you want get a new cambelt and tensioners.
The wirm maybe the PAS its a useless system Slick somehting ro other is supposed to quieten it down but unless its terriable just live with it. If it is bad a new PAS pumps not to check so breakers is best bet or remove it and go get a none PAS system (quite a bit heavier though).

You could jack the car up and have a look at condition of the rubber on the mount, but TBH from what you have said there isn't even any need to check it as it is almost certainly fucked. Only costs about £15 from a factor ot £30 from Renault.

ok so and advice on how to carry the job out?

I'll get back to you on that once I have done it (some time this week) ;)

I believe you just have to undo the two bolts holding it in place though and then just fit the new one.

Its under the car and attaches the gearbox to the firewall of the car.
You cannot miss it it looks like a dogs bone.

As for the leak check the fuel lines.

The dogbone mount is this one:

If you look under the car you will see it.
