soz that dont make sense, wat part of the gauge does the needle sit at when driving around and at idle??

we talkin the thick line??
oil or water temp ? for oil mine will sit at 100 ( i think ) and about 2/3 of the way up on water !
water temp is between 1/2 to 2/3. Oil is at 100 +/- a bit. God knows how high it will be in the summer.
