Valver + Willy Front Springs Identical

Another post about springs, sorry guys..

I rang up Renault to order new springs for the Williams, and told the guy the colour code (the marking on the bottom), which is white. He said to me "thatd be the 16v springs then sir?".

Does this mean the 16v and Williams use the same front road springs?

If so, I am going to save my money by ordering "Quality Alternative" springs from eurocarparts.com.. They are Ventura, which are apparently used by certain manufacturers of aftermarket suspension kits.

No, 16v and Williams springs are not the same - they are slightly different.

Not really,

They are all pretty much the same, the only difference is the colour marking on them which relates to a minimal difference in each spring.
As long as you use the same code on each side youll be ok.

Id get genuine ones though if i was you.

Willy code is normally a double white marking.

Many people have said to buy genuine, it must be important so Im gonna have to..

£80 each after the Renault Romford discount has been applied is KILLER though!

You could always try and get some off a Williams being Broken - theres one in the For Sale!

Spoke to the guy there, he was getting back to me. He had to check the lockup where the parts were, but never rang to say, so Im guessing it was a no. He said the problem was some were better than others (snapped/cracked etc - like mine) so finding a close pair would be a struggle.

Ill call him again tomorrow, but if not I have to sort it with Renault asap... The strange noises from the front right of my car are upsetting me!
