Very last attempt !!!!!

..... at fixing my blowing exhaust !

I swear if i spend any more time under my car im going to go nuts.

Can anyone please throw any other ideas my way that might fix it.

Its a Janspeed with std cat..... all in tip top condition but im pretty sure it blows from the cat- centre section joint.

So far to date, ive had the exhaust off twice, used about 6 different types of clamps, exhaust paste, exhaust tape and must have been under it to fix it about 10-15 times........ and today i thought would be the end of it as i tried Freds suggestion of silicone (for the second time - tried it yesterday too lol). How this has not made any difference i have no idea.

Oh and ive also been to 4 exhaust specialists !! LOL

The closest anyone came was a garage just closing up for the day and all the last guys there tried to fix it for me. (3 of them) They used their own clamp, 2 guys pushed the joints together very hard while the other tightened the nuts. This worked but only for 5 mins of driving..... then hhhsssssss again. FFS.

So, anyone have any last suggestions for me before i get the welder out. lol

The only thing i can think of is asking Janspeed for a new centre section as it may not be the proper shape... was the same story with a sports cat too so might just be the centre section joint, but im sceptical as it looks fine.

But then everyone would be asking if each others cars hiss on load..... Everytime i get to my torque curve (bout 3000 rpm) it just hhssss's really load from under hand brake area.... surely not everyone get this though fred..... but it is a crap design lol

haha.... well, guess im wrong then.

Well, thats made me feel much better. I think ive made it worse though today so im going to just buy one more clamp and try do it as best as possible. I just seem to remember someone getting this sorted on their janspeed via a new centre section piece free from janspeed.

I've tried to sort a rattle/blow on a janspeed 182 system at work, didn't look brilliant quality to be fair looked like the backbox was stainless but not the joins. Even with 2 clamps on and both done up FT it still blew a little. Whats with the single backbox anyway

Tried 2 clamps on it and loads of paste Justin? If it comes to it, give it some stick with the gas axe, and buy a new system.
