VERY loud metallic Sound

I am getting a Very loud metallic sound from the car at about 4k Up.

Happens under Acceleration also in neutral if you just rev the car up and on Run Down.

Sounds like a Washer is loose and resonating but much louder.

I am not sure, but I *Think* its coming from where the Exhaust joins the CAT, I have checked the Bolts and they are tight.... But as I say i only Think its coming from there its hard to tell, Could be further forward in the Engine Bay or somewhere.

Any Ideas? Any Known issues?

I Did... Tried "4k Metallic" "Exhaust Rattle" "Metallic noise" And couldn't find anything related.

Only if its very broken IMO, its not "Normal" engine loud its Hear it from 1/2 mile away loud.

i was helping, i told you it was a known issue, i.e one of your questions.....:nono:

it is either the heat shield, or the sleeve that the mani / cat joint bolts too.

I've had 2 of these metallic rattles on my 182. First result was something in the silencer that had come loose, second was the water pump. That meant a new one.

I had a lose bolt on the alternator once, sounded like the heatsheild but obviously wasn't.

exhaust mounts is instant thought... as was getting the same noise untill i did the ultimate ghetto fix on the rear mount using a flannel and green garden wire

Its not the Mounts as they are less than 6 months old.

I would imagine if it was the Water pump it would be a constant noise?
