Well I've heard rumours that they can raise the rev limit on the maclaren to have a even higher top speed or shorten gears for better acceleration. It would be an awesome race and massive respect to both cars and makers. Maclaren f1 would be my last tank of petrol at the end of the world without doubt.

They can, standard is 7500 but it can take 8500. But if you're going to start modifying the mac is sort of pointless? Gear it for top speed and the veyron will accelerate far quicker. Vice versa if you gear it for max accel.
Blow the welds on the intake. Who cares which is fastest. The Macca is fast enough for me! 
My perception of the Veyron is that it's the kind of car you'd cruise across Europe in, whereas I'm sure the McLaren is more about dynamics. I'd have both. let's be frank, if you can afford those sorts of cars, you can afford two of them, and then some.

But it's not in a lot of ways. It just shows that if you throw enough money at a problem, you can solve it. It was a car defined by numbers. They would (and did!) do anything to acheive 250mph. With the f1, the design brief was to make the best car ever made. The numbers were a by-product.
I prefer the standard car tbh
LM in red is 100% win i love standard 1 in burnt orange aswell though.

When the first drove the veyron they said the mac could get to 120 and then let the bug set off and the bug would still get to 200 quicker than the mac, which is fact... So a season later they raced them both and made it look close.... :sleepy:
Anyway vids are great but like someone says earlier you cant compare the veyron to a modded gtr.

no car could let a macca get to 120 and beat it to 200, not even a f1 car itself. other people have raced the 2 with similar results.

the veyron has a better top speed but the ultima is officialy the fastest accelorating and decelorating car in the world.

The Mclaren F1 does what the Bugatti does with about 2/3rds of the power. Yeah ok the Bug goes about 10mph quicker top end but it weighs 2 tonnes whereas the Mclaren is flyweight 1100 kgs.

people were using the "launch control" which wasnt lauch control! lol it was for snow and ice as the car stalls at low revs if it doesnt move, there have been tests done with a standstill start without the "launch" and it does the 0-60 times quoted, the "launch" makes it 0.0000000 something quicker and all it does it squeel the wheels and give axel tramp...
the 2010 version is quicker 0-60 has a redesigned gearbox that is also covered under warrantee so all the internet rumours go out the window.
