mate you should move onto ADOBE Premiere Elements...we use and teach it at work.
Full HD support + mpeg2, mpeg4, h.264 etc etc.
4audio tracks 2 video...it really is a good put together package.
YOU can get it from around £65.
I was speaking to a guy at work who deals with the broadcast side of things and this was the first programme he suggested.

PREMIERE elements is simple pimple.....
FINAL CUT ok if he has a MAC.
VEGAS is another good choice for similar price.
ADOBE will allow PSD import which I think VEGAS won't....and I know FuBar likes his Photoshop.
Do what I do...I have imovie, Final cut express and Premiere elements all on 1 system lol
