Which stitching gopro etc vids and the like together with different effects what do you use?

Not used it with gopro footage but Cyberlink PowerDirector is pretty easy to get the hang of.

Go pro have their own software which is free I believe:

Alternatively you can't go wrong with Final cut pro X assuming you're on a mac that is.

Final Cut Pro if you're on a mac, Windows Adobe Premiere Pro.

I bet the free go pro stuff is decent enough though.

Any good free products?

I've heard good things about Lightworks but never used it. There is of course Windows Music Maker which isn't pre-installed anymore on newer machines, but can be downloaded from their website. I use Movie Edit Pro myself, not free but is a great piece of kit IMO.
