I've got an mp4 vid file that I want to crop/shorten so I can put it on youtube, any recommendations of free software to use?

windows movie maker does a good job. You will struggle to find something for free that does it better TBH.

dont think you can put mp4s into windows, need to be an avi, use nero recode, or similar to swap it from an mp4 to an avi, then windows to do any editing
