video to cd?

someone told me that if i have a video or film ect and i dont have any dvd-r's i can burn it to a cd if the file is uder the file space on the cd.

is this correct?

Yup, it's a VCD or SVCD. Video CD or Super Video CD.

so do i need to covert the file or just burn it to the disc?

If you've got Nero you can just drop it into that if the format is okay. It takes a while to convert it though, and if the audio was encoded at a variable bit rate it will end up out of sync with the video.

ok, so how do i solve that problem?

I think you should just be able to burn it in something like Nero and it will convert it while you do it. Haven't done it for a while. Maybe better to get a dedicated converter to do it first.

yea, i use super to convert files so could use that?
