Hi Got a minor problem with my VIN number on my 1996 Clio Mk phase 2 its a manual petrol 1.4 3 door LHD.
the vin number is stamped into the paintwork in the engine compartment, I live in France and every time I need a spare part its a problem because my car has ABS and rear disk brakes (this seems to effect lots of part numbers) and this particular spec for this year is highly unusual over here, if fact I'm told never sold here, the thought is that the car was supplied to the UK market.
My main dealers say that the VIN number must be wrong as does Euro car spares. The number is VF1C57JO515360757. When I put this though most online vin checkers they say either I've make a mistake or that the car was manufactured in 2002!
Please has anybody any ideas.
