VIN or chassis number :S?

changed my reg on my car and my insurance sent me a couple of questions through the other day to verify everything, 1 of them was the vin or chassis number and it would be located under the bonnet, had a look and carnt find the thing, could any please tel me wer it is. thanks josh..

it will be on the dashboard, if you look through the windowscreen on the passenger side, usually where the tax disc goes you cant miss it.
