Viper or panel

I have a 172 Cup and am thinking of replacing the air filter to gain a few extra horses. I would like to go down the PiperX Viper route but I have read in previous posts that this might require a remap of the ECU. Is this the case?

Also, is it really worth the £250 asking price or would a £50 panel filter do the job almost as well?

It seems that the general consensus is that the best Induction Kit is the Viper, but what is regarded to be the best panel to go for ?

proberly a pipercross panel filter or green filters meant to be quite good!

Any one got any answers about whether you need an ECU remap if you fit a Viper?
