viper vs open filter?

anyone no if a open cone filter such as a k&n will produce more noise than a viper with the caf not connected?

At a guess I'd say yes, open IK always seem louder than everything else but I have no experience with the viper

I had a pipercross open filter on my 172 and they are really loud, especially after 5k, the note changes completely. Was too loud for me so put the standard box back on and the pipercross is now on ebay

are you just after noise? open cone will always be louder, the Viper is no louder than standard.

the viper with no caf is pretty loud, duno why you`d want any thing louder tbh
