Virtue Desktops mac

Spaces is the equivilent in Leopard, so finally Apple have realised how good it is.

Every other Window Manager (except Windows) has had it for years.. I was using it 7/8 years ago in Blackbox/Fluxbox, Sawmill/Sawfish in Linux etc.. infact, Sawmill was the default GNOME manager then ;) Heh.

I used this on my laptop, but disabled it. I think Spaces will do a better job, so I'm waiting for that.

Right, gotcha!
Yea, MBP uses shock protection sensors etc.. :)
It's crap tho.. cus' to get it work, you have to have it really sensitive, and then if you ever move the laptop, it changes desktop. It's useless but cool :rasp:

The concept of multiple desktops is genius, but, I just don't get on with them like I did in say, Fluxbox. Mapping stuff to f1, f2, f3, f4 etc.. is genius tho.. and really helps speed up productivity :D

yer well handy, the thing is that it is quite a hard concept to grasp in terms of how to lay every thing out, I was so set in the MS ways that I still have issues archiving things in the mac. :S r****d.

Anyhow, next is trying to figure out how to use dual monitos on the MBP without it being too expensive (not including the MBP LCD)

I had known about this concept for 5 years or so, but thought I would try it out on a mac.

Without a doubt, spaces is going to be better, and there was me thinking day before yesterday to sell the mac!!!!!

Kingston memory is next for the mac but not in stock anywhere, could do with 2gb in total as I only have 1gb at the mo. Shame on the core duo it cannot be increased to 3.

Thanks,

G.

Yeah its tricky to grasp, ive been using it more for CS on one page and photoshop on the other.

However, nothing beats the dual screen i have here at work, so much easier to use and lay applications out, just a shame its a PC, still quuuite fast tho, probably faster than my G5.

Seems odd, as they advertise one as a Digital Version?
Weird.. Both seem the same..

You could use a VGA->DVI adapter though.. and depending on the panel you're using, shouldn't make too much diff? (I know my Samsung 172x's have little to no difference between VGA and DVI)

It is a cross between the 22" dell standard, or 24" ultrasharp (however, would only buy 1 24" therefore would not require this gadget.)

Dell panels are samsung :)

Toys.
