Vista SP2 won't install via windows update

Keep getting error code: 80070643, and sometimes no error code, help...

switched off auto updating, WIN.

Uninstalled this as it just seemed a media update rather than anything useful??

It just reset everything I tried to originally uninstall!

I'm not ever bothering to reinstall Vista. Still rolling on XP until my Amazon copy of Windows 7 turns up. If that's shat, then it will be back to XP!
