voicemail feature?? iPhone 4

right, a mate of mine showed me a voicemail he had on his iphone 3gs a while ago, it was in a program and not just dial 901 etc
i never had this on the 3g and still dont on the iphone 4!

what im wondering is, is their an app which stores your voicemails with details so you can go through them??
or is their a way to change it etc???

yes, i took out a iphone contract on a 3gs in march this year but sold the phone, but my contract is still a iphone contract!

My visual voicemail disappeared when i switched to a simplicity tariff on my 3G, still not got it on the 4, im going to ring them up to put it back on.

so its network dependant?? ie they can turn it on/off?

AFAIK, its only available on o2 and i do believe they can turn it on and off but not 100% on that.
