Then they setup false listings, people think "wow" a cilo v6 for £4,300 and stupidly email the person and say yeah i'll have it, end up paying for it by western union or simialr and never ever see their money or the car again.

Its very similar to the 419er scam.

All you need to do is read what they send you. Engage our brain and read it carefully. If you are unsure either ask advice or post on the Ebay community forum.

If it sounds too good to be true - it usually is.

Sounds VERY farmiliar fella.

The strangest part about the "Nigerians" request was:

"I am buying this for my sister for his birthday"

It too was a phone, K750i IIRC.

It wasn't a common one like Yahoo or Hotmail, it was one i'd never heard of and just displayed the password when you got the password reminder correct, I was suprised it worked too :S

I'm pretty sure you ask them to take a pic with a jug of custard on the roof of the car (or something like that any way)
