i'd say the same thing if it was someone off here who had understeered their car into the armco, not unless I knew them personally as a mate. obviously i am sorry he stacked his car but that is the risk you take going ot the ring and going into that corner that quickly.

but fud and pissflap? get over yourselves. my opinion is my opinion. the video made me LOL hard as it was such a fail.

I tend to think as this was a Vauxhall and there are not alot of VXR fans on here it wouldnt have got the same stick had it been a Golf GTi or a Megane 225/R26 etc

feel sorry for the dude, first thing I thought of was the cash! no insurance is stupid though, if you cant afford it you cant afford a track day. In any case not sure what he was doing on a track with a machine that is only about straight lines lol.

Not that im advocating this-

Could he not pay the ring bill, tow it home then abandon it or burn it or something like that to claim on the insurance......

I think cause he got airlifted out it's pretty much set in stone that he crashed it at the ring dude..

and why is that?

Oh for the power of the Mod badge. I work in managment in the real world but even I dont have the power you must have. I hire and fire people and run a branch of a well known security company and you think threats or insinuations of a ban or infraction arse me? Oh the lols!

stop being a knob. i was only posting my opinion to which you insulted me for no reason. then you get the hump when i say really calling me a ''f**king pisslflap'' should be points.

infact piss off for a bit. go and do some managing at your security company..

he should be insured, unless the ring is stated on your insurance, the insurance companys are unable to exclude it as its a public toll road, and in either case you are cover minimum of 3rd party only.

i hope he does sort it all out

That's bad, makes you think twice about going to the 'Ring.

Not really.

The guy was driving waaayyyyy too fast! He failed! Simple. I feel sorry for him, a bit, but he obviously doesn't know the circuit and tried to be a hero. It didn;t work out for him though! lol.

Massive ban ownage.

I don't know the circuit very well at all. That is to say my knowledge is limited to a few laps in Forza. However, looking at the corner it seems pretty clear that he turned in too early and carrying too much speed. I don't really see how anyone could blame that on the car 'understeering'. Even the driver admits it was his fault entirely.

If it was a Clio it would have been down to a slippery road or a deer/unicorn running out.

i only said understeer purely because he went in far too hot and that is what the car did. understeered off the track. not blaming the car, more the driving technique.

i'm watching the vid again for the LOLZ.

is it the horn that is stuck on due to the impact?

i like the way the clip shows the crash, then it cuts back when all the services are there and the heli is coming down.

Yarp thats the horn.

That corner can catch you out very easy, iv had a 'moment' going round it, at a slower speed than he was going. I feel really sorry for him, he simply went in too fast, no more to it really

After you saying that I had to watch it again, and compared to the other 3 cars in front he was going for it going into that corner, loved the dab of oppo aswell!

I watched it at work = no sound.

It's rather funny watching it with sound. He always had no change of making it round that corner! f**king moronic £15k mistake!!

Im not sure why people are going for insults rather than just saying unlucky/nice work/thats one for the grand kids.

He, like us is probably a petrol head, he went too fast for the bend and essentially ran out of talent, im unsure as to how that makes him a moron.

We have all done very stupid things in cars with the exception of the select who look down from the moral high ground on there high horses with complimentary stilts to go with but there we have it.

Couldn't put it any better.

Also the people mocking the guy and having a good laugh at his expense, just think how you would feel if you go out and bin your car just for everyone to laugh at you?

I'm saying it was a stupid mistake? I'm sure he's kicking himself big time! I'm not having a go at him, I'm not jumping on a high horse, I'm not being an opinionated b*****d etc...

I've made mistakes too, just like anyone else. But a) I was insured and b) they didn't cost me £15k. Although my mistakes may be deemed worse due to being on public roads. Anyway, I was just stating it's a shame he made a £15k mistake.

That wasnt a crack at you mate i just meant in general, its a real shame to see a fellow enthusiast down and out from something that could take years to recover from but then those were his choices and im sure he wont forget it

  Mini Cooper S
I guess from this video, we can take this from it: In life, it's best to stay on track and go around the right path. He learnt an expensive mistake and drifted off-track. Hopefully he can learn from this and do the right thing!

He turned in to early to the learning curve also, and didn't learn!

Ive never done a track day but understand the physics of unbalancing a car and the general oversteer/understeer thing but i think its safe to say that entry speed was the factor in which he made the error (at a guess)

He could have went full lock on that bend and the only thing that would have happened is it would have been the rear of the car that got it lol...

  LY R26
i just watched the clip again, he took some about of speed into that corner. mental

shame to see that happen, but shouldve had insurance, especially for the ring considering how much they do charge for a closure

A few points:

1. Entry speed was too high.
2. He's bloody unlucky.
3. He will have learnt from the mistake.
4. If you dont crash at least once, you're not trying hard enough ...
5. Ring insurance is nigh on on impossible on TF. When it is, its ££££££'s

Tbh, there is so much fail in this thread, & not just from the understeering VXR driver :dapprove:
