want a bigger engine

hello can anyone help ive got a 96 clio 1.2 RL with no mods. does anyone know if i can put a bigger engine in it heard alot about doing it to the RT but what about my model + do you know what the cost range will be for fitting and mods that need doing dont know much about this stuff any help would great cheers

u can either have a

1.4 converison but not worth it for an extra 20BHP

1.8 16v conversion £200 for the engine and cheap to put it bout £400

1.4 GT Turbo conversion £200 for the engine and jus over £1k to put in

where bouts u live?

To be honest, since you havent got any mods, Id sell it and buy a valver, unless you wanted to drop the GTT lump in!

Even if you put the GTT lump in your still gonna have to uprate the brakes, suspention, etc......is it really worth it when you could just buy a valver/GTT??

well depends wot u wanna do!

u could uprate ur brakes and suspension for bout £200 then a GTT conversion and thatll come to under £2k or buy a valver for £2500!

Fair enough, but I think Id still rather have the 16v body with the wider arches.

front arch £60 but if u want the rears as well might as well get a valver!

its all down to personal opinion and how much u want to keep ur current car!

Suppose youd get the stealth value as well without the valver body.....but then again only sad gits like me would tell the difference.

Once youve spent the money on the convertion and sorted insurance youll find it cheeper to just buy the car with the bigger engine in the first place! Then youll also get the arches, interior etc...
