warning light on dash

Only just bought this car renault clio mk2 1.2 every now and again the light below keeps appearing then it goes off. When this happens my speedo doesn't work then it comes back on again. I thought about replacing my speedo sensor. Can anyone help i don't know anything about cars but i know this warning light is not a good sign.

The light seem to happen when i have really high revs as well :S

I can't seem to find my speedo sensor it's a Clio mk2 1.2 grande my speedo keeps dropping so i don't know how fast i am going then it comes back on again.

I was told to get it replaced :

Is yours a phase 1 or 2?

I should have noticed that sorry got French specs on my mind at the moment.

As for how to replace it its down the back of the engine there probably some pics. Theres only 2 sensors on the gearbox though.

Hey guys just an update on this problem with the speedo and the warning light. I bought a new speedo sensor had it fitted and now the problem has totally gone. No warning light and my speedo always works.

Hi i had the same problem with mine, its a 1.2 mk2, but mine was the service light and the abs light everytime this light came on the speedo dropped and the abs didnt work, i had a bloke replace the abs ring and its now although sometimes the airbag light comes on and the speedo drops again think its just electrical faults.

Do you know where can I read the meaning of all warning lights? One of them comes from time to time and I want to know what is wrong with my car
