As Above, this came on this morning, cut the car out completely, as I was flat out at the time and running late it let me down. I actually thought the cambelt had gone, pulled over, fired it back up, drove it for a couple of mins, nailed it again and it did it again. After that it was ok. I will just mention I've had a problem with the Throttle position sensor where the car hasn't been responding properly to throttle

Thought I'd update this. The car was fine for a few days then did this again, cut power, then the EML came on. Diagnostics showed throttle pedal faulty and only giving 66% powerChanged the throttle pedal, it felt smoother until the day after, it did the same thing again, Electronic fault light came on, EML back on and me left scratching my head.Turns out the throttle body was at fault, changed that and back to 100% power, can't wait to get it back on the rollers as it made 170bhp when it was broken so maybe a few more ponies have galopped back into the 172's engine bay
