Warning light permantently on - Help please

I have a warning light that stays on after the engine is started.
Its the one above the light that tells you to change gear - is this lambda sound or coolant?
It doesn't say in the manual I have what it is
Can I still drive the car? or Should I just drive straight to a garage.
