warning light question?

  Clio 172 ph2
hi all
just wondered if anybody has come across this issue before.
I changed the battery last night on the wifes 172
started it done the usual checks to make sure the car was charging when loaded with all items switched on with no issues.
jumped in the car to put the radio code back in and there is was a warning light on in the middle of the dash, its the squigley one that means it has an electrical problem.
now the car had no issues before and only changed the battery as it was slow to crank the last day or so.
any ideas would be great fully received

many thanks

Check your battery connections are tight and clean but it could be pure coincidence that this issue came up at the same time.

Hi ian, it was a new bosch battery, i have changed it and just fitted another new bosch s4 001, 44ah unit.
The alt is charging at 14.5 volts at idle, when you switch everything on at idle its 13.2 volts pick up the revs back to 14.5 volts. Going to check for a drain to see what caused initial flat battey as that seems ok after a charge, problem engine managment light still on?

Wierd how it wasnt in limp home mode with the old battery refitted.
Could be a throttle sensor fault-you may need to put a diagnostic reader on it.

Battery and alt seem ok, very odd.

Mick above has loads of experience on Clio sports, may be worth seeing if he has any more ideas.

Where about are you?

Hi Ian, it looks like the car just had a hissy fit while it was disconected from power. Had it code read tonight it was showing a couple of faults, throttle body and throttle pedal switch.
Cleared them down done a few miles and the old girl seems happy. Thanks very much for the offer though.
Lesson here do not remove all electrical power from the car!
