Warning light

Comming down the motorway this morning on my way to work, the warning light in the center came on, it's the one that looks like the electronic symbol for a resistor in a box (manual seems to say it's either electronics problem or water in fuel).

Then I was limited to 3000 revs and the engine warning light came on as well.

The warning light and rev limit seems to go away if you turn the engine off, but it comes back after a minute or two.

Taking it down the garage later, but any ideas so they don't try and bullshit me. :)

Have you gotten your engine bay (The ECU) wet? Sounds like the car went into 'limp' mode where it detects something, but doesn't allow you to drive it hard because of a potential issue.

Failing that...

Engine coil? Hence the lack of power? Or after you turn the engine off is the car good again? In whcih case it wouldnt be this.

Is the car kangarooing at all?

Well, took it down to the local renault place, and yes it went into limp mode.

It seems limp mode turns itself off when you stop and start the engine.

There is a wiring fault somewhere in the accelerator fly-by-wire system, so i have them looking now.
