Warning lights and a judder?

  Clio 172 PH1
Hi, I've had a good run in the car today and mo probs until after a few hours when the car seemsto be reving high when I'm stopped at lights etc, give the throttle a blip and it drops back to normal also when I'm changing gear 3rd and 4th mainly it judders like it's going to stall and the stop, temp and green gear lights come on then go off again, I then noticed they flicker slightly, then all back to normal when I turned the car off and back on again for another run bit then final run it's at it again! Any help would be great as I'm new to these cars, it's a 172 ph1. Thanks.

Hi there mate, welcome to the club.

I've moved this to a section where you should get more help.

As the chap above has said, the revving when pulling up at lights etc is normally a sticky thorttle body.

Fixing it can be as simple as buying some good spray grease (not wd40) and coating the butterfly and part of the mech where the cable goes.

It may be worth elaborating further on the other issues as I'm not quite sure what you mean.

The other issue is when I change gear there is a sudden judder as if the car is going to cut out and a few lights come on....temp warning light, stop light, green gear stick light and exclamation mark light but after 5 secs they go off again. Really worried my engines fooked??? Thanks for the replies guys I'll grease the throttle body. Pete.

Yeah mate it's fixed now, it was a frayed wire near the alternator. Garage charged me 30 quid to fix. Got another prob now though, the water in my coolant tank seems very dark and cloudy????? Any ideas?

Yeah I thought that but I instantly thought head gasket, bit worried now. Should it be clear though, I did give the pipe that goes to the rad a squeeze, it just seems really mucky.

It's my radiator, just noticed a puddle under the car as I gave the pipe a squeeze, another member says £150 to replace and fit.
