Warning lights and cant go over 3k revs-New throttle body? ...HELP

  No car
Basically my toxic fume monitorng light has come on, and when i got the diagnostics machine attached it said something about a bi-mode air inlet solenoid valve. So im gona go down to the scrappy and see if i can source the cannister as that seems to have broken in two!

Also the pre heating light (the box with the scribble in the midde of the instrument panel) comes on after about ten/fifteen mins of driving. Doesnt come on all the time but when it does the car is limited to 3000 RPM's! Such a pain to drive with. Once the engine is restarted the light goes but will eventually come back. Again, when it was attached to the diagnostics meter. it came up as throttle potentiometer circuit (DF002) and motorised throttle control (DF254). I was told by the guys at the garage (R.sport ltd wimbledon) that a new throttle body is needed. (tried cleaning it but no joy). does this sound familiar?

-Last thing i want to do is change the throttle body only for the orange light to reappear!

I'd deal with the DF002 first before replacing the TB. The amber ZigZag lamp is telling you there is a connection problem and i'd hazzard a guess that its the pedal/pedal wiring at fault.

Yeah I mean I saw in the handbook that it's a faulty connection or incomplete circuit. Is the wiring something I could sort myself or isit a job for the tech guys? Would it be worth changing the pedal first?

if its actual wiring then yeah, it *may* be beyond your skill set but i don't know what you do for a living. Personally i would advise you to remove the plug and look at the pins in the multiplug itself. Get some decent electrical cleaner and /or WD40 and give both the connector and pedal connection a quick blast of each before replacing the plug and seeing if it fixes the issue.

If it does, mint, permission to feel mega manly granted. If not then you really need some CLIP time to confirm the pedal tracks are both functioning correctly as this will rule out a TB vs Pedal issue.

Well last night I drove to Brighton and the electrical fault light didn't come on, drove home and when I got off the motorway, it came on and I was limited to 3k revs. I cleaned the throttle plug, looks like there's no joy there! Maybe it's the actual throttle sensor?
