Warranties Transferable

Hi all
I bought a new (used) car last week from a garage :) (clio rt)
However, i have a problem with the windows wiper not working on intermittent and not self parking. Ive asked a few people and they think its the wiper relay thats gone. The car had a full service history and to pass its last MOT it had a new wiper relay fitted in January this year.
What i was thinking is it is covered by a years warranty? Therefore, although i didnt buy the relay myself, i have the receipt to prove they sold it and its faulty. Would this be ok? Or arent warranties transferable?
Id appreciate if anyone had any official information regarding this so i could quote if they refused to repair.
Thanks
Darren

If I were you Darren, I would take the car back to the garage that supplied the relay, show them the receipt and dont even mention that it wasnt you who purchased it! Just tell them that it isnt working so you are assuming that it could be faulty and would they please supply and fit a replacement.

What does anyone else think he should do?

Id go back to the dealer you bought it from, surely they must have supplied you with a 3 mth warranty. Take it back to them and get them to fix it. Failing that then do what GirlRacer said. Try both ways im sure one of them will end up fixing it for you!!!

okey dokey thanks for the advice. Il give the garage i got the car from a ring tomo, and if not il go down the garage it was bought from.

The way i thought it was, is the its the part that has a years retailers warranty, not the buyer?

Either way i should get it fixed for free hehe :)

Thanks

Dazz
