Washed Origin b2

Whats the chances of my Origin b2 surviving a Wash Cycle?? My dopey wife didnt check my suit trousers when she washed them!!!

So my Origin b2 has now been washed and spun.

I guess the only saving grace is that there is no power in the origin b2 when its unplugged from the car, so the circuitry should have been safe?

try drying it off and leaving it till its fully aired out, maybe near a radiator??

Yeah, thats my thoughts.

Ensure its fully dried out before powering it up.

if its totally boggered, mite be worth claiming on ur house insurance?? as it was a genuine mistake?

Trust me, before claiming on the house insurance, there will be a few choice words spoken.

Leave it in your airing cupboard for a few days b4 plugging it in. We had a Black & Decker drill that got absolutely soaked when the shed roof split and I put that in the airing cupboard for a couple of days and it still works.

I left my old mobile on the windowsill outside during a torretial ranistorm one night, dried it out worked fine.

That was the same rubber keyed (fortunately) mobile I left on the outside of the sunroof and drove around town with it stuck there. I said to my lass, wheres my phone, and she eventually spotted it there. Just as well it was rubber keyed.

Its not so much the water, rather than the inpurities in the water. Im guessing the washing powder and detergents will do more harm.

Put it back through on rinse.

should be ok, just ensure that its fully dried out before putting any power through it!

my sister dropped her mobile in the bath, and then switched it on! fuked it up!

If it was mine I would give it a really good rinse out with isopropyl alcohol and then let it fully dry out before plugging it back in. I think Maplin sell aerosol cans of the stuff, sometimes labelled as electrical cleaning solvent.

I powered it up, and connected it to my laptop for an update.

So far so good. I havent tried it in my car as my car is in Reno but as it works so far I cant see a problem.

The wife breathed a hoooooj sigh of relief when I said it worked.
