washers!

It's just occurred to me. Do you know how to operate the headlight washers?
You have to pull the windscreen stalk for a few seconds incase you didn't.

Check it, I had a 106 1.1 once that came up as a 1.5 disel, and my old corsa came up as wrong car to.

You might want to check your insurance to.

If I was an assesor and turned up to that and you had it down as a cup i wouldn't pay.

I very much doubt that they would refuse to pay out on insurance because of that! Unless the assessor is a pedantic clio enthusiast.

can i check that online?

If there is a difference in say, the ending of the chassis number, which determines that. Then cross reference it to your chassis number. I am not 100% sure if there is. Usually is on most cars that have 'special editions'. Someone on here may know for sure

Random snippet from yozzasport for reference on other cup specifics for reference:

The total sold for the UK Market were: 2392
The 172 Cup was billed as the lightweight track orientated weapon. It had no ABS, no Xenon Lights, it had a cloth interior, loosing the heavy leather, no aircon, lightweight glass (front windscreen had no IR sheet), it had a slightly wider track down to the Speedline Turini wheels, and again a slightly different gearbox – the JC5-129. It had no spare wheel, but instead some rapid inflate puncture repair fluid. Sound deadening was removed all over the place and a nice lightweight weapon was produced. The 172 Cup was only available in Blue for the most part, but late on, some silver examples were released – some with Climate Control.

Had a search and found this for you

A 172 Cup's VIN number will start like - vf1cb1ndf
A normal 172 VIN number will be like - vf1cb1n0f
