Water pump essential?

Doing all the belts etc but can't get hold of a water pump for the 182. Is it essential it's done at the same time?

Just get one for eurocar parts there cheap enough and you might as well do it while it's in bits better than not doing it.....

if its not leaking and it still spins smoothly then its not essential, however it is advisable to change it as if it packs up, it could snap the belt leaving u wishing u had it changed

Yeah I would rather do it than not, however not really one for aftermarket parts..

Seen loads of aftermarket ones leak and fail quite early.

I'd check condition of it when aux belt is removed, but ultimately leave until it is noisy or leaking. They manage severe mileage.

My 182 is on 141k and seems OK.

Yeah I'm sure it will be fine but I reckon I may aswell replace it. Found this on eBay. Some price!

Next best thing to genuine. Renault wolverhampton used to stock them alongside genuine.

Had it on over 3 years now. Another option you have is motrio version from wolverhampton renault.


As said though its not essential as its aux driven so not a major problem if it did fail.

I swear by Circoli waterpumps that ECP sell, ive used heaps of them on F4R's and never had an issue.
